Welcome back to our ongoing conversations about building Wicozani Waste — a true Culture of Health — together. It’s been encouraging to see the sharing and exchange of ideas in the comments, because no one person can create a culture of health alone. This work belongs to all of us.
In this video, we focus on something often overlooked when we talk about wellness: Istima — sleep, and especially deep, restorative sleep.
Modern science now confirms what our people have always known — that during deep rest, the body heals and restores itself, the immune system grows stronger, the mind finds clarity, and the spirit settles. Without proper rest, we carry more stress, confusion, and fatigue, which over time opens the door to sickness and disease.
Sleep is not laziness.Istima is medicine.
We talk about why honoring sleep is an act of self‑respect, responsibility, and care for those who depend on us. We also share practical ways to prepare for deep, restorative rest by following the rhythms of creation and creating space for calm and balance at the end of the day.
👇 Join the conversation below:How can we better organize our lives to make deep, restorative Istima a priority? How might community schedules support healthier rest for everyone? What challenges do we face, and how can we realistically overcome them for the long term?
Share your thoughts, respond to one another, and encourage each other as we continue this journey together.
